Over the past eleven years, members, volunteers and employees of Alabama One Credit Union have created a new tradition; one of generosity and hope. Since 2003, Operation Credit Union Christmas has helped thousands of children throughout the Tuscaloosa, Pickens, and Jefferson counties, as well as the Mount Vernon community, know the joy of Christmas morning.
Toys, games, bicycles, and clothing, are just some of the gifts that Operation Credit Union Christmas made possible this year. Together, with your hard work and generosity, we gave the gift of hope to those families who needed it the most.
Originally, the idea of Edna Donahue and her husband, Donnie, and the employees of our Northport Branch, Operation Credit Union Christmas has grown beyond our wildest dreams, to the point where everyone seems to have gotten in on the program. Your contributions through the purchase of candy, t-shirts, pictures, donation of spare change, and the Skip-A-Payment Program, helped to give 443 children a reason to smile on Christmas Day. So, when you think of holiday traditions, like Santa coming down the chimney, getting together with family and friends, or the warmth and love of the season, think about Operation Credit Union Christmas and the difference we are making in the lives of children in our communities. That’s a reason to smile. Thank you for helping make 2016’s Operation Credit Union Christmas a huge success. Your gifts of time and money brought many families joy on Christmas morning with the ones they love.
