Alabama ONE is committed to investing in our members and their education. Established through the Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation, these scholarships were established for the purpose of empowering and investing in the higher education of deserving students who are a part of the Alabama ONE Family. We offer different scholarships to members based on where they or their family members work, go to school, or live, as well as scholarships for members of the Alabama Rural Electric Credit Union (ARECU), a division of Alabama ONE.
The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation Community scholarship is awarded to a first-time college student who is an active Alabama ONE Member in good standing to help with their college education cost. The award may be used to cover tuition, fees, or books at an accredited institution of higher learning, vocational or trade program. One scholarship provides $1,000, split across the fall and spring semesters.
Anyone employed by an Alabama Rural Electric Coop, any family member of an employee, or anyone who received power from a coop is eligible for membership. The scholarship, provided by The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation, may be used to cover tuition, fees, or books at an accredited higher educational school, vocational, or accredited trade program. Nine scholarships each provide $1,000, split across the fall and spring semesters.
The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation SEG scholarship is awarded to an active Alabama ONE SEG Member (parent or legal guardian) or their child to help with their college education cost. The scholarship may be used to cover tuition, fees, or books at an accredited institution of higher learning, vocational or trade program. One scholarship provides $1,000, split across the fall and spring semesters.
This award is for a member of the Alabama One Credit Union attending Shelton State Community College. The award may be applied toward tuition, fees, books, or program-required supplies. Two scholarships each provide $1,500, split across the fall and spring semesters.
