Membership & Eligibility

Who can join Alabama ONE Credit Union?

Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in eligible communities—or has a family member who is already a member—or affiliation with an eligible organization—can join Alabama ONE. Learn more here.

How do I become a member?

You can join online or visit us at one of our many branch locations. A valid ID and a minimum opening deposit of $5 are required.

What is required to open an account?

You’ll need a government-issued ID, Social Security number (or ITIN), and minimum deposit for your chosen account.

Is there a membership fee?

No, Alabama ONE does not charge a membership fee. To become a member, you'll need to open a membership savings account with a minimum deposit of $5, which remains in your account to establish your ownership as a credit union member.

What types of accounts do you offer?

We offer checking, savings, youth accounts, money market accounts, and certificates (CDs), as well as business accounts.

Do you offer free checking accounts?

Yes, we offer checking options with no or low monthly fees, depending on the account type.

How do I open a checking or savings account?

You can open accounts online, in the mobile app, or by visiting a branch.

Are my deposits insured?

Yes. Your deposits are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

How do I order checks?

You can order checks in the digital banking app under Member Services - Check Reorder, or by contacting us.

Are there ATM fees?

Transactions at non-Alabama ONE ATMs may be subject to fees charged by the ATM operator. Alabama ONE ATM withdrawals are free for Alabama ONE members withdrawing from their Alabama ONE accounts.

What are overdraft options?

We offer overdraft protection options, including linking your savings account or a line of credit.

Is there a minimum balance requirement?

Depending on the account you choose, you may need to maintain a minimum balance to avoid fees. See account details for specific requirements.

Digital Banking

Do you have a mobile banking app?

Yes, our mobile app allows you to check balances, transfer funds, pay bills, deposit checks, and more. You can download our app here.

Can I deposit checks remotely?

Yes, mobile check deposit is available through the Alabama ONE app.

Why isn’t my mobile deposit available immediately?

Mobile deposits may be subject to review and funds-availability holds. Availability can vary depending on the check and account history.

How do I enroll in online banking?

Visit our website and select “Sign Up,” then complete the Digital Banking Enrollment form. View our Digital Banking Guide here for step-by-step instructions to follow along with.

Is online banking secure?

Yes. We use advanced encryption and security measures to protect your personal and financial information.

How do I reset my online banking password?

Click “Forgot Password” on the login page and follow the prompts to securely reset your password.

What credit score is needed for a loan?

We consider a range of factors including your credit score, income, and financial history. Requirements vary by loan type.

How long does loan approval take?

Many decisions are made quickly—often within the same day, depending on the application and documentation.

Can I set up automatic loan payments?

Yes, automatic loan payments can be set up through online banking or by contacting us.

Can I refinance an existing loan?

Yes, refinancing options are available for auto loans, mortgages, and other loan types.

Debit & Credit Cards

What should I do if my debit or credit card is lost or stolen?

Report it immediately using the card-management tools in the mobile app, access our Digital Banking Guide for card management details, or contact us for assistance in freezing your card.

Do you offer contactless cards?

Yes, many Alabama ONE cards support tap-to-pay functionality.

How do I activate my debit card?

When printed in branch, debit cards are already active. When debit cards are mailed, members must call 800-631-3197 to activate the card.

How can I change my pin?

1-888-886-0083 is the direct line to change PIN numbers on an active debit or credit card, 1-727-540-9434 if the member is International. To set a new PIN on an active card the member will need the full card number, CVV, and last 4 of SSN. If the card is not active, they will need to activate before setting the PIN.
